Awesome technology: setting the record "straight"

This simple, elegant creation is the work of inventor scott hobbs and is currently a just a concept, but he is looking for a manufacturer to partner with. It’s one of the newest innovations in DJ technology, mp3 playing touchscreen turntables which use your fingers instead of needles to scratch waveforms instead of vinyl grooves (which eliminates the pain-in-the-ass need to look up at a computer screen while DJing with mp3s). Vinyl DJs may be worried about the usability of this instrument, but the tactile feedback you get on a turntable sized screen is surprisingly satisfying like vinyl. And you can perform all the functions of spinning records with it’s ability to loop, sample, speed up/slow down, and scratch at will with it’s easy to use interface that you also cue the songs from (again eliminating the need to fool around with a separate computer screen). While it has received some mixed reviews from vinyl loyal viewers of his online video
demos, at least the creative freedom is still there despite it’s mp3 based interface and ease of use. I still think it’s an awesome idea. And besides, how badass would you look with such a futuristic piece of equipment?
